What stays the same
Both are portable buildings sold from Alabama lots, delivered and set on your site after we confirm access. Both can go on rent-to-own (plans from $99/month; 24, 36, 48, or 60 months). Both are covered by the same five-year limited warranty for the original purchaser, for residential or light commercial storage — read the warranty page for the terms.
Material does not change the need for a reasonably level site and a clear path in.
When wood is the better fit
Choose wood when you want a painted or stained building that reads as a backyard shed, cabin, or barn. ProBilt wood utility sheds use T1-11 siding. Wood series also cover utility cabins, lofted cabins, wood barns with end doors, side lofted barns, wood utility garages, and wood lofted garages.
Wood is the usual pick when the building sits close to a house and you care about a traditional look. It will need ordinary exterior care over the years — paint or stain as the finish weathers — which is normal for T1-11 buildings.

When metal is the better fit
Choose metal when you want a low-maintenance, weather-resistant utility building or garage and you care more about the shell than a wood exterior. ProBilt metal lines include end-door utility buildings, side-door metal utility buildings, metal utility garages, metal barns, metal side lofted barns, and metal lofted barn garages.
The two metal utility pages are not duplicates: one is end doors, the other is a side door and windows. Pick the door layout that matches how you will move equipment in and out.

Garages, barns, and cabins are separate choices
Do not collapse the catalog into “wood or metal” and stop. A wood utility garage and a wood lofted garage are different series. A metal barn and a metal lofted barn garage are different series. If you need vehicle-width use, start on a garage page. If you need loft storage plus a barn footprint, start on a lofted barn page.
K&J Carports in Northport is a ProBilt dealer lot for sheds, barns, garages, and cabins — not carports. Metal on that lot still means portable buildings, not a carport product.

The widest mix is usually at the Safford Shop. Selma, Northport, Camden, and Enterprise carry what is on that yard this week. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, Sunday closed. Call the lot or 877-375-6922 before you drive if you want a specific wood or metal series waiting.
