Rent to Own Sheds & Storage Buildings in Alabama
Get a ProBilt shed or storage building on your property with a monthly plan. It works like lease-to-own: you pay monthly, and the building is yours after the last payment.
Why rent to own a shed instead of renting a storage unit?
Self-storage charges you every month and you never own the space. A ProBilt rent-to-own shed sits on your property. When the plan is paid, the building is yours.
Everyone qualifies
No credit check and no income verification. If you need a building and can make the monthly payments, you can apply.
Monthly payments that match the building
Plans start at $115/month plus tax, depending on size, style, and term. The cash price and the monthly amount are shown before you sign.
36, 48, or 60-month plans
Pick the term that fits the payment you can carry. Shorter terms cost more per month and less over the life of the plan.
Own it after the last payment
After the final payment, the building is yours — no hidden fees and no balloon payment. You can pay the balance early with no early-payoff penalty.
How rent to own works
Four steps. You choose the building and the term. We handle delivery and setup on your property.
Choose the building
Pick a unit from current inventory or a style from our product lines — utility sheds, lofted barns, wood, metal, and economy buildings. Custom builds are available when stock size or layout is not a fit.
Pick a payment plan
Choose 36, 48, or 60 months. We show the cash price and the monthly payment for that building before you commit.
Submit the application
Fill out the rent-to-own application or call 877-375-6922. We get back to you within 24 hours with your rent-to-own options.
Delivery and setup
We deliver and set the building on your property. You will need a clear path in and a reasonably level site. We confirm access when we schedule the delivery.
Browse buildings in stock or product lines, then apply.
Who rent-to-own sheds are for
This program is for Alabama property owners who want the building on their land and would rather pay monthly than pay the full cash price up front.
Home storage
Lawn equipment, tools, seasonal bins, and the overflow that is currently in the carport or a rented unit.
Farm and shop use
Feed, implements, and a dry place to work. A lofted barn gives you floor space plus overhead storage.
People leaving self-storage
If you are already paying a commercial storage bill, compare that monthly cost to a plan that ends in ownership.
People who want to see it first
Walk a lot, open the doors, and pick a building that is already built.
It is not a good fit if you need the building this afternoon with no site access, or if you want to pay cash and be done — use Get a quote for that path.
Rent to own, cash, or another year of self-storage?
People searching “rent to own sheds,” “lease to own sheds,” and “rent to own storage buildings” are usually weighing three options.
| Rent to own (this page) | Pay cash | Commercial self-storage | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the stuff lives | On your property | On your property | At a storage facility |
| What you pay | Monthly plan for a set term | The cash price (tax and any delivery/setup as quoted) | Rent that continues as long as you keep the unit |
| When you own it | After the final payment | When you pay | You never own the unit |
| Credit process | No credit check and no income verification | Standard purchase | Facility application, if any |
| If you move | Portable buildings can be relocated; we help coordinate | Same building, same move question | You empty the unit and stop paying |
| Early payoff | No early-payoff penalty | Already paid | Not applicable |
Lease to own: That search is the same buying question. ProBilt’s published program name is rent-to-own. We are not advertising a second, separate lease product.
Self-storage: We are not publishing competitor storage rates. Run your own current unit cost against a 36-month example below. If you stay in self-storage for years, you keep paying and still have no building.
Cash: If you have the cash price, you skip the term. Ask for a cash quote and still use warranty and inventory the same way.
Example rent-to-own payments
These are 36-month illustrations. They are examples, not a quote. Actual payment depends on the building, options, tax, and term.
Payment examples are for illustration with a 36-month term. Actual terms may vary. Contact us or apply for pricing on a specific building.

Delivery and setup
We deliver and install the building on your property. We do not publish a free-delivery map, a mileage radius, or a list of cities beyond the lots we operate. Give us your ZIP on the application or call the shop and we will tell you whether we can deliver to that site.
What you should plan for
- A clear path from the road to the pad (width, overhead lines, soft ground, fences).
- A reasonably level site. The warranty asks owners to keep the building level, typically on solid concrete blocks or a level gravel base.
- Someone on site for delivery unless we agree otherwise when we schedule.
Where to see buildings before you apply
- Shop — Safford (5450 Alabama Highway 5)
- Selma Lot — Selma
- K&J Carports — Northport
- Harris Farms — Camden
- BlueSky Storage — Enterprise

Warranty on a rent-to-own building
ProBilt buildings carry a five-year limited warranty from Specialty Products Industries, LLC d/b/a ProBilt Portable Buildings, for the original purchaser, for residential or light commercial storage. Read the full terms on the warranty page. If you want warranty coverage to remain after a move, do not move the building yourself — ProBilt must perform or authorize it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need good credit to rent to own a shed?
No. We don’t run credit checks. Everyone qualifies for the rent-to-own program regardless of credit history. If you can make the monthly payments, you’re approved.
Is lease to own the same as rent to own?
For this page, yes — it is the same buying question. People search both “rent to own sheds” and “lease to own sheds.” ProBilt’s published program is rent-to-own: monthly payments, then ownership after the final payment. We are not listing a second lease product.
How much is a rent-to-own shed per month?
Plans start at $115/month plus tax, depending on size and term. Current 36-month illustrations: an 8x12 Pro Econo at $115/month plus tax, a 10x16 Pro Utility Wood at $149/month, and a 12x24 lofted barn at $249/month. Your payment depends on the building and term. Apply or call 877-375-6922 for a number on a specific unit.
What term lengths can I choose?
36, 48, or 60 months.
When do I own the building?
After your final payment, you own the building outright. We transfer full ownership with no additional fees or paperwork. No balloon payment and no hidden fees.
Can I pay off a rent-to-own shed early?
Yes. You can pay the building off at any time with no early-payoff penalty.
What if I move?
Portable buildings can be relocated. Contact us and we will help coordinate the move to your new property. If you want warranty coverage to remain, do not move the building yourself — the warranty requires ProBilt to perform or authorize a move.
Do you deliver and set up rent-to-own storage buildings?
Yes. We deliver and install the building on your property after we confirm site access. Delivery area is confirmed from your ZIP and the lot that will send the building. We are not publishing a mileage radius on this page.
Is rent to own cheaper than self-storage?
It depends on what you pay now and how long you would keep a storage unit. Self-storage rent does not end in ownership. A rent-to-own shed is on your property, and the plan is meant to end with the building in your name. Compare your current storage bill to the example payments above. We do not publish other companies’ storage rates.
Can I pay cash instead?
Yes. Ask for a cash quote or walk inventory and buy the building outright. Rent-to-own is the monthly path, not a requirement.
Which buildings can go on rent to own?
Start with buildings in stock and product styles. The live page also allows a custom build when stock is not the right size or layout. Availability of a given unit on a plan is confirmed at application.
Where can I see rent-to-own sheds in person?
Visit a ProBilt lot: Shop in Safford, Selma Lot, K&J Carports in Northport, Harris Farms in Camden, and BlueSky Storage in Enterprise. Addresses and on-lot buildings are on the locations page.
What is due at delivery?
Your first month’s payment and a small security deposit (usually one month’s payment) are due at delivery. No large down payment required.
How do I apply?
Use the rent-to-own application, call 877-375-6922, or visit a lot. We get back to you within 24 hours. If you only want a price on a cash building, use Get a quote.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Contact us if you are having trouble making a payment and we will work with you.
